We are evaluating kanban element features. While looking into the functionality found that when hierarchical columns are enabled, swimlanes are not working properly. it is only working when there is a simple structure having columns and various cards within them.
What we have noticed is, when tried to have hierarchical columns and swimlane enabled, chart is showing only the first level columns and then bunch of swimlanes but then there is no sub-columns and cards. I was also able to reproduce the same behavior with your sample and your data(what you have in demo page) in codepen by making certain changes in JSON and component settings.
How can we enable swimlane features when there are hierarchical columns?
    Thanks,
    Mitesh J.

    Hi Mitesh,
Currently, hierarchical columns and swimlanes are not supported at the same time (with swimlanes taking precedence). We will, however, consider implementing this functionality. If possible, please share an image (mockup or otherwise) or a detailed explanation of the desired kanban layout when both hierarchical columns and swimlanes are shown and we will evaluate whether our product can be extended to support your requirement.

    Hi Dimitar,
Tried to explain such scenario in a mockup image. You can see my mockup image here: https://ibb.co/d6SJFfN
As you can see in this mockup, grouped those four columns in three phases and all phases are in a single column. its an example but we could have any numbers of roots and sub-columns and swimlanes are only after last level column.
    Thanks,
    Mitesh

    Hi Mitesh,
    Thanks for the feedback.
We will evaluate and consider implementing this missing functionality in the described or similar way for the future releases of our Kanban UI Component. If you have any additional questions about the Kanban or other component, please do not hesitate to ask.

    Hi Mitesh,
We have decided to implement this functionality for a future version of Smart HTML Elements, but it will be applicable only when taskPosition is ‘leaf’ and when “leaves” are all on the same level (as, for example, in your image – third level).
