Versions

Smart.Industrial is released together with Smart UI and carries the same version number. The smart-industrial npm package and the Smart.Blazor.Industrial NuGet package of one version are built from the same sources and can be used together. Versions follow semantic versioning: a major version may change an API, a minor version adds components or features, a patch version fixes issues. Changes are listed in the release notes of each version.

The current release is supported. Fixes are shipped as new versions and are not backported to earlier major versions. A published version is never changed in place.

Browsers and platforms

The components run in the current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, on desktop computers and on the panel PCs and tablets that run these browsers. They are standard custom elements without polyfills. On a page without an Industrial theme, the default values of the Industrial CSS variables are computed with color-mix() (Chrome 111, Safari 16.2, Firefox 113 and later); an older browser cannot compute them, and the colours that use them fall back to inherited or initial values. The two Industrial themes set plain colours and do not depend on it.

Touch operation is supported throughout. Seven components have a density="touch" setting that enlarges their own targets for gloved operation: the HMI shell (its own controls to at least 44 px), the numeric keypad, the momentary button and the jog panel (60 px), the selector switch (52 px), the e-signature (48 px) and the audit trail (44 px). The setting applies to the component it is set on; the shell's does not enlarge the components inside it. Keyboard operation and screen reader support are described on the accessibility page of each component and in the WCAG 2.2 conformance report.

Frameworks

JavaScript and TypeScript (ES modules and a single bundle), Angular 13 and later (Ivy partial compilation; a standalone component needs Angular 14), React 18 and later, Vue 3.2.38 and later, and Blazor Server and WebAssembly on .NET 6 and later. The frameworks guide has the installation for each.

Evaluation and license

The package installs without a license key and runs in evaluation mode: the first component that checks the key shows a link to the license page and a "Rate us on GitHub" link at the bottom of the page for about ten seconds, and writes an evaluation notice to the browser console. The components are not limited in evaluation mode. A license key removes the links and the notice; the getting started guide shows how to apply it in each framework. The license agreement is EULA.pdf in the package; it allows a trial version to be used for evaluation for 30 days. For pricing and license terms, contact sales@jqwidgets.com. Smart.Industrial is a separate package from the Smart UI suite; an application that uses both installs both packages.

Support

Technical support is by e-mail to support@jqwidgets.com and on the forum. When reporting an issue, include the component, the framework, the package version and, where possible, a page that reproduces it; the demo on the component's page is a starting point for one. Security reports go to support@jqwidgets.com with "Security" in the subject, as described in the security statement.
